These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Wander website and the booking and participation in the equestrian experiences, riding activities, events and related services offered under the Wander brand.

By submitting a booking request, completing a purchase or participating in a Wander experience, the guest confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

Services

Wander offers horseback journeys, riding experiences, riding lessons, private events, multi-day itineraries, gift experiences and other activities connected with horses, nature, wellbeing, hospitality and the Piacenza Hills.

The description, duration, price, meeting point, riding level and inclusions of each service are shown on the relevant booking page or communicated directly to the guest.

The indicated duration includes the entire experience, including:

  • welcome and introduction;

  • horse allocation and preparation;

  • safety briefing and riding assessment;

  • the guided riding itinerary;

  • return and conclusion of the activity.

The indicated duration does not necessarily represent the exclusive amount of time spent riding on the trail.

Booking Requests and Confirmation

Submitting a booking request does not automatically guarantee availability or create a confirmed reservation.

A booking becomes binding only when Wander has:

  1. confirmed the date and service in writing; and

  2. received the required payment or deposit.

Guests are responsible for checking that all details contained in the confirmation email are correct.

Wander reserves the right to refuse a booking when the requested experience is unavailable, unsuitable for the guest’s riding level or incompatible with safety, horse welfare or operational requirements.

Prices and Payment

All prices are expressed in euros and include the services expressly listed on the relevant experience page.

Additional services, private arrangements, transfers, accommodation, special menus or partner activities may be charged separately.

Payment must be made using one of the methods available during booking. Any bank, card or foreign-exchange fees applied by the guest’s payment provider remain the guest’s responsibility.

Failure to complete the required payment within the specified time may result in the booking being released.

Guest Information

Guests must provide accurate information concerning:

  • riding experience;

  • age;

  • height and weight, when reasonably required for horse allocation;

  • physical limitations relevant to participation;

  • allergies or dietary requirements;

  • any other information reasonably required for safety.

Providing incomplete or inaccurate information may result in the route being modified, the guest being assigned a different activity or participation being refused.

Personal and health-related information will be handled in accordance with Wander’s Privacy Policy.

Horse and Rider Matching

Each horse is assigned according to the guest’s experience, physical characteristics, confidence, safety requirements and compatibility with the horse.

Requests for a specific horse may be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

The final decision regarding horse allocation remains with Wander and its professional guides.

Safety and Conduct

Horse riding is an outdoor activity involving animals and naturally carries risks that cannot be entirely eliminated.

Guests must:

  • follow the instructions of Wander’s guides and staff;

  • behave calmly and responsibly around horses;

  • use all required safety equipment;

  • avoid actions that may endanger themselves, another guest, a horse or a third party;

  • immediately report discomfort, fear, injury or difficulty.

Wander may refuse or terminate a guest’s participation where their behaviour, physical condition, intoxication or failure to follow instructions creates a safety concern.

No refund will be issued where an experience is interrupted due to the guest’s unsafe or inappropriate conduct.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Required Clothing and Equipment

Guests must wear:

  • long trousers;

  • closed-toe footwear with a low heel;

  • clothing appropriate for the weather and outdoor activity.

A clean and sanitised riding helmet is provided by Wander unless otherwise agreed.

Wander may refuse participation where the guest’s clothing or footwear is considered unsuitable or unsafe.

Horse Riding Experience Disclaimer

Acknowledgment of Risk
Horse riding and outdoor activities involve inherent and unpredictable risks, including but not limited to:

  • falls from the horse

  • injuries caused by the behavior of animals

  • uneven terrain and environmental conditions

By purchasing and/or using a voucher and participating in the experience, participants expressly acknowledge and accept these risks.

Participant Responsibility
Participants agree to:

  • follow all instructions given by Wander team and guides at all times

  • wear appropriate clothing and suitable footwear

  • provide accurate and complete information regarding their physical condition

Participants must inform Wander team in advance of any medical conditions, injuries, disabilities, or other factors that may affect their ability to safely take part in the activity.
Wander team reserves the right to refuse participation to any individual who, in its reasonable opinion, may pose a risk to themselves, others, or the animals.

Liability Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Wander shall not be liable for:

  • personal injury or death, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct

  • loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings

  • any indirect or consequential damages arising from participation in the experience

Participation in all activities is undertaken at the participant’s own risk.

Age, Weight and Physical Requirements
Participation is subject to specific requirements established to ensure the safety and welfare of both participants and horses, including but not limited to:

  • minimum age of 18 years

  • minimum age of 14 years only if a parent or legal guardian assumes full responsibility

  • maximum weight limit of 85 kg

  • adequate physical fitness

Participants are required to accurately declare their weight at the time of booking.
Wander team reserves the right to verify this information at the time of the experience, including by the use of appropriate measuring equipment on site. The final decision regarding participation rests solely with Wander team.
If a participant exceeds the maximum weight limit of 85 kg, participation will be refused, and no refund or rescheduling will be provided.

Arrival and Late Attendance

Guests should arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time, unless otherwise stated.

This time is required for reception, horse allocation, equipment and the initial briefing.

If a guest arrives late:

  • the experience may be shortened without a price reduction;

  • the group may depart without them;

  • participation may be refused if the delay affects safety or the organisation of the activity.

A delay that prevents participation may be treated as a no-show.

Guest Cancellations and Rescheduling

Guests may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 72 hours before the scheduled start time.

Between 72 and 24 hours before the experience, the guest may request one rescheduling, subject to availability. If the guest chooses to cancel instead, Wander will retain 50% of the total booking price.

Cancellations received less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are non-refundable.

No refund is provided in the event of:

  • failure to attend;

  • late arrival preventing participation;

  • voluntary withdrawal during the experience;

  • refusal to follow safety instructions;

  • incorrect information provided during booking.

Any rescheduling is subject to availability and must be agreed in writing.

For leisure services booked for a specific date or period, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right may not apply. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Weather and Ground Conditions

Wander experiences take place outdoors and are subject to weather, trail and ground conditions.

Wander may:

  • change the departure time;

  • modify or shorten the route;

  • replace part of the planned itinerary;

  • postpone the experience;

  • cancel the experience.

These decisions may be taken whenever necessary to protect guests, guides, horses or the quality of the experience.

Light rain, cloud cover or ordinary seasonal weather do not automatically result in cancellation.

Cancellation by Wander

If Wander cancels an experience and no suitable alternative can be offered, the guest may choose between:

  • rescheduling the experience; or

  • receiving a refund of the amount paid directly to Wander for the cancelled service.

Wander is not responsible for separate expenses incurred by the guest, including travel, accommodation, flights, car rental or services booked independently.

Route Changes and Horse Welfare

The welfare of the horses takes priority over the completion of any advertised route.

The itinerary, duration, pace and permitted riding gait may be changed according to:

  • weather;

  • trail conditions;

  • the condition of the horses;

  • the ability and confidence of the group;

  • instructions from landowners or public authorities;

  • unexpected safety considerations.

Such reasonable changes do not normally entitle the guest to a refund.

Food, Drinks and Dietary Requirements

Some Wander experiences include a picnic, aperitivo, meal, wine tasting or refreshments.

Guests must communicate allergies, intolerances, vegetarian or vegan requirements before confirmation.

Wander and its partners will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requirements but cannot guarantee an entirely allergen-free environment or exclude accidental cross-contamination.

Alcoholic beverages are served only to guests who are legally permitted to consume alcohol.

Alcohol must be consumed responsibly. Wander may limit or refuse the service of alcohol where this is considered necessary for riding safety.

A guest who appears intoxicated may be refused permission to ride, without refund.

Partner Services

Some experiences involve independent restaurants, wineries, agriturismi, instructors, accommodation providers or other local partners.

Where a service is provided directly by a third party, that provider may apply its own terms, operating rules and cancellation conditions.

Wander is not responsible for changes made independently by third-party providers, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

Where an experience qualifies as a package or linked travel arrangement under applicable law, the relevant mandatory travel protections will prevail over conflicting provisions in these Terms.

Multi-Day Journeys

Multi-day experiences may include accommodation, food, luggage arrangements and third-party hospitality services.

Specific conditions, payment schedules, cancellation rules and included services will be communicated before the booking is confirmed.

The guest is responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate clothing, physical preparation, travel documentation and personal belongings for the journey.

Gift Cards

Wander gift cards:

  • may be used only for eligible Wander services;

  • must be redeemed before the expiry date shown at purchase;

  • are subject to availability;

  • cannot be exchanged for cash, except where required by law;

  • must be presented or identified at the time of booking.

If the chosen experience costs more than the gift-card value, the difference must be paid by the guest.

If an experience costs less than the available balance, the treatment of the remaining credit will follow the conditions stated on the gift card.

Gift cards do not guarantee availability on a particular date.

Photography and Video

Wander may photograph or film experiences for promotional, editorial or social-media purposes only where an appropriate legal basis or consent exists.

Guests may inform Wander before the experience if they do not wish to appear in promotional content.

Guests may take personal photographs provided that doing so does not interfere with safety, the guides, other guests or the welfare of the horses.

Commercial photography, filming or content production requires prior written authorisation.

Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their own clothing, telephones, cameras, jewellery, bags and other personal belongings.

Wander is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property unless caused by conduct for which liability cannot legally be excluded.

Guests are advised not to bring valuable or fragile items during riding activities.

Website Availability

Wander aims to keep the website accurate and available but does not guarantee uninterrupted access or the absence of technical errors.

The use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by the Cookie Policy and the guest’s cookie preferences.

Non-essential tracking technologies should not be activated before valid consent has been obtained.

Force Majeure

Wander is not responsible for delay, modification or non-performance caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:

  • severe weather;

  • natural events;

  • fire or flooding;

  • animal illness or injury;

  • closure of trails or roads;

  • public-authority restrictions;

  • epidemics or emergencies;

  • strikes or interruption of essential services.

Where possible, Wander will offer a reasonable alternative date or solution.

Complaints

Any complaint should be submitted as soon as possible to:

Email: info@wanderjourneys.it

The guest should include their name, booking reference, date of the experience and a clear description of the issue.

Wander will make reasonable efforts to review and respond to the complaint promptly.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law.

Mandatory consumer protections applicable in the guest’s country of residence remain unaffected.

Any dispute will be submitted to the court determined by applicable consumer and jurisdiction rules. For disputes involving customers acting for business or professional purposes, the Court of Piacenza shall have jurisdiction, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Language

These Terms may be provided in Italian and English.

In the event of a discrepancy between the two versions, the Italian version shall prevail, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection applicable to the guest.

Changes to These Terms

Wander may update these Terms to reflect changes in services, operations or applicable law.

The version applicable to a booking is the version in force on the date the booking is confirmed.
